Ms. Edith Shamrell
Little Root Assistant
Miss Edith is native from Barcelona, Spain. She is just a few credits away from her college degree in Early Childhood Education and is a certified yoga instructor.
Her love of languages and different cultures has given her the opportunity to love outside her native Spain for the last 18 years. She has worked in the French Public school system for five years while living in Paris where she pursued her four year yoga therapist certification. Since moving to Portland she has worked in French and Spanish immersion schools. She has also taught yoga and creative movement classes as well as Spanish classes to preschoolers and elementary schools children over the years. Because she was raised bilingual, she understands firsthand the benefits and challenges of bilingualism and loves to share the joy of exploring and learning a new language with children.
She is the proud mother of two daughters, seven and 10 years old, who attend a local Waldorf Charter school.
