Little Root Preschool has been located in the St Johns neighborhood of Portland, Oregon since 2014. We utilize our outdoor play garden and patio warming shelter where children are given freedom to explore as well as weekly walking field trips to our beloved Baltimore Woods.
We believe in the incredible importance of work in the outdoor environment for everyone! The benefits of a play based, nature inspired preschool are endless! From caring for animals to raking hay there is always opportunities for work and play. Here children discover the wonders of nature. They learn about the changing seasons, witness the beauty of a blooming flower, and embrace the sensation of soil beneath their feet. The outdoor environment is our classroom, sparking a love for the earth that will last a lifetime.
