Parent/Caregiver-Child Class

4 Week Session begin on Monday, October 27th

  • Fall Session 1: October 27th – November 17th – The Gift of Unstructured Play
  • Winter Session 2: January 5th-January 26th – The Sustainable Cycle of Activity

Come enjoy a sweet and magical time of gathering with other parent/caregivers and children in our cozy indoor classroom as well as our child centered Play Garden where Flopsy the Rex bunny and sweet chickens await treats. In this series for parents/caregivers and children (ages 6m to 3.5 years), parents and caregivers will gain an understanding of how to support the processes of early childhood.

Past participants share that they treasured their time in our Parent Child class as a time of shifting into presence and watching their child explore with wonder and joy.

Led by Parent Child educator, Miss Shady, we will learn about the importance of rest, child led play and environment as teacher.

Together we will intentionally step into these mornings of gentle rhythm, one that can easily be replicated to help create harmony in your own home routines.

In Parent Child class, parents and young children come together in an inviting space that echoes the rhythms and the warmth we provide here in our preschool but on a shorter schedule. Parents will participate with their children in learning songs and finger plays, preparing and sharing a snack, creating simple crafts, playing games and enjoying physical movement. They will lovingly be guided through discussions about early childhood while the children are encouraged to explore and engage in imaginative play. This is a gentle way to support you and your child during these early years. This is also an opportunity to learn more about our program that is based on LifeWays education as well as give your child some experience in the program should you choose to send them here.
